Happy Father's Day!

In honor of Father's Day, here is a photo of my dad and me at my graduation.

It's actually Saturday evening but since I have time now, I'll make an update! Brad's mom left early this morning so it's just me and Cayden and Brad now until the end of the month when Mary Beth's parents arrive for about five days.

Last night I went out to a big Portland meet up (around 15 people or so) at the Vino Paradiso downtown. It's a ritzy wine place that is overly expensive, but it was pretty good. The company was okay, some very nice and interesting people. After that bar we walked around the Pearl District to the Canvas Art bar which is this small bar out in the outskirts of Portland with open mic nights and figure drawing and crayons at every table for adults to use to draw! It was a chill atmosphere but I was getting pretty tired of being around people by that point. A friend Ron and his friend Nick met up with us there and then we three headed to McMenanmin's which is a sort of chain bar. There are McMenamin's all over Portland, they are pretty cool places. The one we went to was the Tavern and Pool one, so, naturally, we played pool and naturally, I lost! It was a fun evening though!

There is something called Pedalpalooza that is happening in Portland right now and tonight is the naked bike ride! People ride around on their bikes naked, or in body paint or for the less brave of heart, in clothing. I am not partaking in this event nor am I going downtown to witness it! Maybe next year... tonight I'm just going to stay in and maybe watch a movie. The media room is all set up so there is a big screen and projector for movie watching. Just like being at the movies!

My car finally arrived yesterday! With the rest of my clothing and other goods. The car is running okay, except the RPM gauge is all messed up. The needle points backwards which often obstructs the MPH gauge so I don't know how fast I'm driving. It's not a big problem and probably an easy fix, but I've felt uncomfortable driving, mostly because I keep glancing down at the gauges every other second to see what's going on! Either way, it's good not to have to think about whether or not my car and all of my belongings are going to arrive safely or not!

I went on a trip to Ikea earlier today with someone that I met last night at the meet up. I ended up with a new duvet cover and pillow cases but no sheets because I could not find any Egyptian cotton or sateen sheets! I'll be going to Target tomorrow to see what they have, otherwise I'm sure there is a Bed Bath & Beyond around somewhere. Anyway, I also got a cute rug on sale for my little kitchenette downstairs, a picture frame for my adorable nephew's 1 year birthday picture, and a super cute gift for him! I wish I could give it to him in person... :(
